Using google.COM omnibar search while overseas

Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
When I do an omnibar search while overseas, all searches are done on the international version of Google's site (e.g. http://www.google.co.il) specific to my current location. This occurs even if my cookies are set to use google.com by default (by clicking "Google.com in English‏" on the international google page). I have tried modifying the search url in the settings to "http://www.google.com/search?{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s". This works, however I now no longer get suggestions in the omnibar. Is there anyway to force chrome to use google.COM, yet still receive omnibar suggestions?

Thanks
